"Lunch Break"

I just read a really cool article, and I've been waiting until lunch time to post it so it will appear as if I'm doing this on my lunch break. Although, let's be serious, it's Friday and it's summer, so it's my lunch break almost all day. Unless you're my boss reading this. In that case, I never take lunch breaks. In fact, I stay late most nights because I just get such a rush out of keeping up with emails and all the fun stuff in my mailbox!

Ok, so on to what I discovered on my lunch break. I happened to click on this article and I think this is a really great idea! If you're not on your lunch break and can't take the time to read it, I will summarize for you. Basically, a student at Brown University launched a startup company based on the concept that more people will watch advertisements if they are able to earn rewards or win a prize. Um, DUH! (Wow, I haven't said that since 1992-ish). The company is called Loffles. I checked it out a little bit and I'm going to be honest, I was a little disappointed because I expected it to be more like Swagbucks where you earn points for surveys, polls, web searches, watching videos, etc. and then cash them in for prizes. It IS like that basically because you watch videos, but Swagbucks gives out gift cards as rewards rather than as raffles. Meaning that on Loffles you watch a video and are entered into a raffle with maybe a 1 in 5000 chance of winning, but with Swagbucks you complete a task, earn your bucks, and then trade it in for gift cards, so it's more of a guarantee. I've made over $115 in Amazon gift cards on Swagbucks this year. I'll save Swagbucks for another post though because there's just so much to write about.

That being said, it still seems like a cool idea. If you're bored at work (on your break of course!) and want to give it a try, you might as well see if you can win something! The gift cards all seem to be at least $50 worth, so it's not a bad prize if you get lucky! This guy wins all the time:
