What Does CVS Even Stand For??

Did you ever wonder that? Well, maybe you have more of a life than me then. Which helps explain why I'm posting this at 8pm on a Friday night.

Ha, that's not really me. I have much longer hair.

Anyway, I just wanted to tell you about CVS's advisor panel. If you join, they will send you occasional surveys to complete for Extra Care Bucks! And apparently the ECBs are anywhere from $5 to $15! CVS is slowly becoming my favorite place to shop. Sorry Target.

Christmas! Or..This Sunday. Same Thing.

I realize this DOES make me a cheap old lady, but I love waking up on Sundays now and getting to the drugstores to get all my free & cheap stuff! It's like Christmas every weekend!

This week I stocked up on Kleenex because I think my boyfriend is wallpapering our walls with them or something, I don't know how they disappear so fast. I also got a few other great deals. Here's what I got:

  • 6 boxes of Kleenex (110 count)
  • 5 Purex 3-in-1 Laundry Sheets (20 count)
  • 2 Colgate MaxFresh Toothpastes
  • 1 bag of Cadbury Mini Eggs (opened...of course)

I paid $6.62 out of my own pocket for ALL of this after sales and coupons, plus I got $5 in Extra Care Bucks back from CVS, so technically I got 660 tissues, 100 loads of laundry, clean teeth for months, and a snack for the car ride home for only $1.62. Not bad! :)

My Mailbox is Becoming Like an ATM!

I've been so excited to get the mail lately!

Every day there seems to be a free sample I signed up for, or some coupons, fliers, and checks! Yes, checks!  I sent in a few rebates when I was doing some Christmas shopping, and now I'm getting the money back for all of them. The best one was today's though - a $21 check from Ebates! I love Ebates...when I remember to use them. It's a really simple site to use, and I've blogged about it before, but I thought it should get another mention because it's just so stinkin' awesome.

All you have to do is remember to go to Ebates when you want to shop online, then search for the store or product that you're looking for. It will tell you the % of cash back that you will earn and also show you if there are any coupons or promotional codes! Then you just keep shopping like you normally would online, making sure that you click through to the website (www.barnesandnoble.com for example) using the link from Ebates in order to get the credit. You get $5 just for signing up! Wait, I'm going to say that louder...
You get $5 JUST FOR SIGNING UP!!

Giveaway!! - UPDATED

Ok, so I don't know how well this is going to work, but I feel like doing something fun. So did Britney Spears this day I guess:

This is also to make up for the lack of posts the past 2 weeks. So here goes. I am going to give one of you a basket full of stuff including Febreeze air freshener, a Yankee Candle jar candle, lotions, hair stuff, and 2 different coupon inserts. There will probably be some other stuff thrown in there if I decide to pick up more things this week. I know I don't have very many followers right now, so that makes it easier for you to win this. All I want you to do is leave me a comment below with your favorite blog that I've posted. This will let me know what I should do more of! Then on Wednesday night (2/16) I will use a random number generator to pick the comment (or rather the writer of the comment) that wins! Simple. I like simple. Except when Paris Hilton is involved...

UPDATE: Since some comments may have been deleted, I am extending this until Friday night at 9pm so that everyone has the chance to comment!

Golden Tickets! Kind Of...

Good Morning :)
Yesterday's post where I mentioned buying Shecky's tickets on Goldstar made me realize I should tell you more about Goldstar! If you ever go out and do fun things, you should look for tickets on Goldstar first. Everything is so much cheaper! You can find Celtics tickets, movie tickets, theater productions, and there's even a chocolate and wine tour that I almost wish I hadn't seen now...
Doesn't that look like a GREAT idea? Anyway, Goldstar is free to join and they hardly ever send me any spammy emails, or any emails at all, but if you join, just bookmark it or something and make sure that you check it before you buy tickets to ANYTHING because I bet you will find some cheaper ones. I'd even bet you my chocolate wine.

I've Been Hibernating.

I know, I know. I'm terrible at keeping up with this lately. I have a pretty good way to make it up to you though and I will tell you about it later this weekend (oooo, the suspense).
For now, I have a different thing to tell you about. Free lima beans!! Mmmm. Actually, I'm just kidding. Who would be excited about free lima beans?! I bet that kid above would make that same face if I told him I was giving him lima beans.

Ok, moving on. Toward the point of this post. Every year, about twice a year, Shecky's hosts a "Girl's Night Out" in Boston at the Cyclorama. They do it in a lot of cities throughout the country as well, so if you're not from the Boston area, move here. Or you could find it in your city, I suppose that's easier. The Girl's Night Out event is a really good time. They have a bunch of jewelry, clothing, and purse vendors for you to shop at, plus areas to get your hair or nails done (sometimes this costs extra), and then are a few random tables with vendors from spas, travel sites, food items, etc.

I suggest buying the ticket that comes with a goodie bag as opposed to just general admission. The goodie bags are FULL of free stuff! Some of the things I've gotten in the past are lotions, hair elastics, makeup, chapstick, magazines, deodorant, suntan lotion, chocolate bars, bottled water, razors, eyedrops, perfume, whitening strips, coupons, and full size bottles of shampoo, body wash, and hairspray. Here's a pic of someone else's goodie bag that I found online:
Totally worth the extra cost for a goodie bag! PLUS you get 5 free drink tickets when you walk in the door! FIVE. Full-size. There's potential to look like this when you leave:
So be careful. Oh, and drunk kitty just reminded me that there is usually also a free beer tasting sponsored by Budweiser.  5 FREE drinks, a beer tasting, free samples, and a goodie bag for $15!! The tickets on Shecky's site cost $30 but DON'T buy them there because you can find them much cheaper. I usually like to get them from Goldstar. Don't ever pay more than $20 for your ticket. If you can't find them cheaper, then find me and I will let you know where to get them!

There is also another company that puts on the exact same kind of event, in the exact same building, with the same goodie bags. Style Fixx will also have a Girls Night Out a couple times a year. It's basically the same as Shecky's, but my friends and I have found that we like Style Fixx a little better because they have food! Food is pretty necessary when you're drinking all your free drinks. Last year there was a booth with sushi (cost extra), pizza, and free frozen yogurt. They also usually have people walking around with dessert samples. Do you see why this is my favorite of the two? Here's a peek at a Style Fixx goodie bag:

Things To Do With your Snowday

First, head over to Gillette Venus's Facebook page, "like" them, and then wait for them to post a question. If you are one of the first 25 to respond, you will win a free razor! I've been refreshing the page all morning but I keep missing the questions when I get up to get a drink, make cinnamon rolls, or get socks! I need to time my breaks better!

While you're waiting for the question to be posted, head over to BuyWithMe and get a $10 credit just for logging in (or signing up if you haven't already)! You have to use this link though, and you won't see the credit until you log out and log back in, but it works - I did it this morning! This is what you have to do:
  1. Go here to sign up for BuyWithMe
  2. Log out (top right)
  3. Log back in with this link
  4. Click "My Account" on top right
  5. Click "Credits & Referrals" tab to see $10 credit
  6. Buy stuff!
Then you can go here to sign up for a free coupon book with all kinds of cleaning & household product discounts and tips.

And finally, order your free Glade Scented Oil candle here so that on your next snow day (because you know there will be more...) you can relax with your new scented candle while you take a bath with your new razor and read your coupon book!

Also, please be careful if you have to drive and remember to park your car on all 4 tires. Refer to your owner's manual if you have any questions about why this is not the proper way to park:
